Moodbidri, Mar 24: A water conservation programme and a seminar on Stagnography were organized at Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology here on Tuesday March 23.
 
Principal Dr Sandeep Nayak said that by planting trees, soil erosion can be prevented and ground water depletion can be avoided. He stressed that combined effort from students, public and NGO’s is required to conserve water.

Rayee Rajkumar, teacher Jain High School, here spoke about the harmful effects of plastic bags. He distributed cloth bags to toppers of first semester engineering, sponsored by Corporation Bank, Mangalore.

Nagaraj Shetty welcomed the gathering. Introductory remarks were given by Shruti. John Paul Vas proposed the vote of thanks.

The seminar was organized by department of Computer and Information Science. Professor Ganesh Aithal, vice-principal, P A College of Engineering explained the details of the topic and participated in the discussions. Guru Prasad introduced the guests. Dr Jayaram Hegde administrative officer, Sujith and faculty members of computer and information science were present.
