Lalu Prasad angry over Tej Pratap's remark on Raghuvansh

Patna, Aug 26 (IANS): Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is reportedly angry over the statement of his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav who compared senior leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh with a jug of water.

Lalu Prasad has called Tej Pratap to meet him in Ranchi where he is under arrest in the fodder scam case. Tej Pratap is expected to reach Ranchi on Wednesday evening.

Sources in the RJD said that Lalu Prasad wants to pacify Raghuvansh Prasad so that he would have a rethink on leaving the party.

When asked by reporters about Raghuvansh's resignation from the party vice president's post on Monday, Tej Pratap replied that the RJD is like a sea and it would not be affected much if anyone takes one jug of water from it.

Sources said that Tej Pratap also wants to change his constituency from Mahua in Vaishali district to Hasanpur in Samastipur.

Tej Pratap was elected from Mahua constituency in the 2015 assembly election when the JD-U was part of the Grand Alliance.

Sources said that Vaishali is a stronghold of the JD-U which is now a part of the National Democrativ Alliance and its leaders may give the ticket in the upcoming Assembly polls to Tej Pratap's ex wife Aishwarya Singh. Hasanpur constituency is a safer seat for him compared to Mahua.
