Bantwal, Sep 29: Contract workers along those who have been outsourced by the health department have been protesting for their demands since September 24. As the government has not paid attention to them, workers in Bantwal submitted an appeal to MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu requesting him to bring the matter to the notice of the government and requested for the fulfilment of their demands.
“More of the outsourced workers are involved in examining outpatients and implementing Malaria and other national schemes. But the government is discriminatory towards our demands. Protests will hinder Covid tests, call centres, Covid reports, vaccines, programmes relating to mother and children, control of TB, blindness etc. Therefore, the government should be persuaded to fulfil the demands,” they stated in the memorandum.
Contract and Outsourced Employees Association taluk president Dr Prakash Kumar, secretary Vishwanath P and other employees were present.
