Mangalore: Nine Deacons Ordained as Priests at Milagres Church

Mangalore, Apr 15: Nine deacons were ordained as priests with ritualistic celebrations and worshipful prayers at Milagres Church on Thursday April 15.
 
The ordination ceremony was held under the leadership of bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. He ordained the nine deacons as priests through administering religious oath.


The newly ordained priests are Ivan D’Souza, Paul Prakash D’Souza, Roshan D’Souza, Sunil George D’Souza, Robert D’Souza, Stany Fernandes, Anil Roshan D’Souza, John Baptist Moras and Naveen Pinto.
 
Vicar of Milagres parish Fr Walter D’Mello and other priests were also present. The ordination ceremony was celebrated as part of the church centenary celebrations.

    I join scores of people in congratulating the newly ordained Priests who have taken their vows to serve The diocese of Mangalore. More than that I say kudos to the parents of the young priests who indeed have taken a lot of trouble to inculcate true values in their sons.

    It is said that Mangalore is The Rome of The East. Of course people from Goa do not endorse this view as they feel that Goa is The Rome of The East. Whatever it is The Diocese of Mangalore has been reeping good harvests for several decades. It is good to see that nine deacons have been ordained priests to continue The Lord's work in the Diocese of Mangalore. While congratulating the young priests I would also say kudos to The parents who indeed had inculcated true values in their children.

    It is my hope, wish and prayer that these good people of God do a fine job in the various assignments allocated to them by Our Bishop.
