Mangaluru City Corporation observes 'Civic Workers' Day'

Mangaluru, Oct 7: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) observed ‘Civic Workers Day’ here at Townhall on Wednesday October 7.

Mayor Diwakar along with other dignitaries inaugurated the programme.

Meanwhile, civic workers were honoured for their service during the time of the corona pandemic. Retired civic workers were honoured as well.

Addressing the gathering mayor Diwakar said, "I thank all the civic workers for their service at the time of the pandemic. We will have a discussion regarding the facilities available for the civic workers and will ensure that they benefit out of it."

MCC commissioner Akshy Sridhar said, "Every day is a civic workers’ day as they work day and night without taking any leave. There are several demands by civic workers which will be considered and their demands will be fulfilled."

Deputy mayor Vedavathi, MCC opposition leader Abdul Rauf, corporators Poornima, Kiran and others were present.

    My big salute to Mangalore City Corporation for honoring all the civic employees on this 'Civic Worker's Day. I have no words to express how these civic employees work day in and day out in every weather to keep the city clean.
