Lead Healthy Lifestyle, UAE Women Told

Dubai, Apr 23 (IANS/WAM): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a health awareness programme for women in an effort to educate them about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) conducted the awareness campaign to check blood sugar and blood pressure levels, height, weight, BMI (Body Mass Index) and cholesterol, and also held workshops on healthy nutrition and the importance of breastfeeding.

Authorities recommended nutritional guidelines to the women to keep their BMI under control.

The women were also provided with educational material with information about ill-effects of smoking. The team of DHA doctors also used smoke analysers to check the carbon monoxide levels of the participants.
