Bengaluru: Eid Milad - No processions, coming together in open places

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 19: The state government has denied permission for holding massive professions or congregating at an open place during the Eid Milad this year which will be celebrated on October 30.

The government has taken this decision as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus infection, which has devastated the state. It has issued guidelines for the same. It has also barred all kinds of day and night discourse programmes being held at Mohallas on the occasion of Eid Milad, cultural programmes, and meetings.

As per the COVID-19 guidelines, social distance should be maintained when offering prayers at the mosques and Dargahs. Use of loudspeakers and DJ in public places has also been barred.

People aged over 60 and under ten should celebrate the festival inside their homes. Arrangements to sanitise hands and wash hands with soap should be made at the entry to the mosques or prayer centres. Everyone should maintain a minimum distance of six feet between one another at all times, the government has instructed. The government has said that no mass prayers or discourses can be arranged in any of the open spaces including Qabristan. Wakf administrations and Mutawalli officers have to take steps to ensure that the guidelines are strictly followed.

The government has asked the state Wakf Board to pass on these orders to the deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, Idgahs, Masjids, Dargahs and other institutions through the district Wakf Officials. It has directed all the Wakf institutions to follow these instructions scrupulously.

Muslim communities should set an example not gathering and celebrating in public places, mosques etc. Lets celebrate at our house. If we can contribute following safety rules that would be a good contribution for our family and country.

Let's be an example for others following strict rules of covid.

It would have been great if the same rule is implemented during Dasara too. Rules are made community wise
