Yediyurappa conducts aerial survey of flood-hit Kalaburgi, Yadgir, Ballari districts

Bengaluru, Oct 21: Taking time off from his official programmes, Chief Minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday conducted aerial survey of the flood-affected districts of Kalaburgi, Yadgir and Ballari.

Yediyruappa, who arrived at the Kalaburgi airport by helicopter along with Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, was received by Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chavan, State Disastter Management Authority Commissioner Manoj Rajan and Kalaburgi Deputy Commissioner V V Jyothsna.

After the aerial survey, the Chief Minister told reporters that he has already spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has been promised all help from the Centre.

Yediyurappa said the State Government has released sufficient funds to the district administrations to take up relief and rescue operations besides providing all assistance. The rehabilitation of the affected people, who had to be displaced due to the floods and lost their houses and belongings, will be taken up after the easing of the flood situation.

The Chief Minister said the State Government was yet to completely assess the damages and losses and would send a detailed reports to the Centre so that a Central Study Team could be dispatched the state.
