Mangalore: Food Festival at Kadri Park on Apr 30

Mangalore, Apr 30: A three-day food festival and exhibition are being organized at Kadri Park by Dakshina Kannada Hotels and Restaurants from Friday April 30 onwards.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by the state food and civil supplies minister, H Halappa, at 5.30 pm today. 30 vegetarian and non-vegetarian stalls, apart from 20 exhibition stalls will take part in the exhibition. A release said that cleanliness and hygiene will get top priority at the festival.

Several hotels from the city, who have come to be known for their unique food items, have come together to organize this food festival. Apart from the delicacies from Karnataka coast, chats, pav-baji, snacks, pizzas, burgers, Kori Rotti, Rumali Roti, Italian pasta, Mexican and Thai food varieties etc., will be available. The visitors can also enjoy fresh fruit juices, desserts and ice creams at the food festival.

Shariff Furnitures Mysore has been entrusted with the task of setting up these stalls, while artist Gopadkar has designed the entrance and stalls. Various artistic shapes carved out of vegetables and fruits would be an added attraction at the festival.

For the cooking contest organized on the occasion, the organizers said, they have received overwhelming response. Entertainment and games are also being arranged for children. Convener of the festival, Swarnasundar, said that this festival will be a rare treat for people from all the age groups and all walks of life.
