Kasargod, Oct 30: Antigen tests will be arranged in five out of 17 entry points from Karnataka to Kasargod. The tests will be conducted on those who are entering Kerala without Covid certificate. The decision was taken at a district-level advisory committee meeting presided over by deputy commissioner Dr Sajith Babu via video conferencing on Friday, October 30.

The tests will be conducted at Talapady checkpost (NH 66), Adkastala, Adyanadka road (SH 55), Adoor–Kotyadi-Sullia (SH 55), Panathur-Chemperi-Madikeri (SH 55) and Manimoole-Sullia road checkpost (SH 56). Tests will be conducted from 6 am to 6 pm.

Travellers arriving from other states should produce Covid negative certificates so as to gain entry into Kerala. Commuters arriving and returning within a day or those who are travelling every day need not produce a negative certificate or undergo Antigen tests.

Permission has been obtained to conduct tests in all the buildings except the new block of Manjeshwar Govinda Pai memorial college. The CFLTC of Chemnad gram panchayat granted sanction to conduct inspections in all buildings except the furnished new block. The meeting decided to allow for examination to be conducted at Sadiya College. The MCA has also adopted the Covid regulations to ensure that the CFLTC's activities at the Nileshwar campus are not interrupted.

As there was a piece of information regarding illegal entry of taxis from Karnataka through Sulliapadavu border, DC Sajith Babu ordered RTO to take suitable action to stop them.

On the matter of approval of leaves for the government staff, the DC said, “There is no need to approve special casual leave. The quarantine is required only if a person is in constant contact with an infected person for more than 15 minutes without a mask. Suitable action will be taken against the staff who do not follow the required Covid guidelines."

DSP D Shilpa, assistant DC D R Meghashree, district medical officer A V Ramadas, district spokesperson Madhusoodan M and district level committee members were present.

Amongst the near 6000 ppl who turned positive today hardly 80 are from outside state. Looks like test should be conducted on people leaving kerala, not the other way round.

While giving the news, please also clarify that whether the test will done on free of cost basis or any charges will be there? If, yes how much?

Very correct, this may create a "market" for Covid negative certificates.
