Bengaluru, Oct 31: In order to stop coronavirus infection from spreading, and in the interests of the general welfare of the people, the government this time has decided to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava in a simple and honourable way. Processions, which are normally held all over state on this occasion, have been banned.

The government has imposed the maximum limit of 100 persons in attendance for the Rajyotsava functions. Prior permission for Rajyotsava celebrations being held by organizations and institutions from the police, local bodies and other departments has been made mandatory for such programmes.

This was mentioned in the special guidelines issued by the state government chief secretary, T M Vijay Bhaskar, on Friday October 30. These guidelines are limited to holding of Kannada Rajyotsava programme alone.

The guidelines issued for the purpose have made use of masks sanitisers and maintaining social distance compulsory. Programmes without enforcing social distance are banned. The programmes should not disturb peace, harmony, law and order. Cultural and entertainment programmes should be kept at bare minimum. Care should be taken to make sure that small children, senior citizens, and those who are likely to develop ill health or infection do not take part in the Rajyotsava. All instructions and orders issued in the interests of the health of the general public should be complied with.
