Mangaluru, Nov 28: The members of the syndicate of Mangalore University on Saturday briefed the deputy chief minister and Minister for Higher Education, Dr. Ashwath Narayan in Mangaluru about the improvements and the progress seen in the functioning of the university. The corrupt functioning of the past senate was brought to his notice in the presence of Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru south. The strategy to be deployed in rectifying the previous blunders was discussed with him. The MLA present, appreciated the work of the members and requested the government to support them.
The inception of a free examination software will find progress as it substitutes the software that was hired from an external source that cost crore of rupees. This project would not only bring in improvement, but it would save a lot of money for the university and the students data would remain confidential. Dr Ashwath Narayan appreciated the syndicate members of Mangalore University for going the extra mile and was of the opinion that all universities in Karnataka should adopt this method of designing their own software. He also stated that Mangalore University needs to take the lead role and set an example in simplifying the usage of resources and bring in drastic changes required to suit the present demand and the government would lend a helping hand wherever there is scope.
