Muscat : MCCP 18th Annual Day on May 21

Muscat, May 19 : The Mangalorean Catholic Center of the Parish (MCCP – Sts. Peter and Paul Church – Ruwi) will be organizing its 18th Annual Day on Friday, 21st May 2010 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church Main Hall. “ We are planning to present truly an entertaining cultural fiesta by our members and for our members and I am sure, everyone will enjoy the program.” Suraj Rebello, versatile and energetic president of MCCP and the man behind the success of MCCP’s current year’s multi-colored programs and activities, spoke to www.daijiworld.com team. “Throughout the past year, we had given a thorough importance to our members encouraging them to exhibit their talents. In this Annual Day program also, we have gathered many talents of our community to stage variety of entertainment. The audience will enjoy a program presented by our members and their children. The Executive Committee has worked day and night to formulate a brilliant program for our members. We are also giving a special platform to the Gulf Voice of Mangalore singers who were successful in the preliminary rounds competition. Overall, it will be a great day for everyone.”
As officially announced the program will commence with High Mass in Konkani offered by Fr. Albert D Silva, OFM Cap, Parish priest of Holy Spirit Church - Ghala and one of the Spiritual Directors of MCCP at 10.30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi. Immediately after the High Mass, the cultural program will commence followed by traditional lunch at the main hall of the Ruwi Church. Fr. Raul Ramos, Parish Priest of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi will be the guest of honor.
The theme of the year 2009 – 2010 was Stree : Ghoracho Divo, Sonvsaracho Uzvadd (Woman : Light of Home, Radiance of World). With seven gifted and talented women in the Executive Committee of 2009 – 2010, MCCP was able to present many program highlighting the very theme of the year.
The highlight of the annual day will be formation of the new executive committee for the year 2010 – 2011, traditional and western style dances by members and their children, Konkani songs by well-known Konkani singers of Muscat and hilarious rib tickling skits by leading stage artistes.
Traditional lunch will be served by a famous catering center of Muscat.
The annual day 2010 will be a great day of enjoyment and entertainment and members of MCCP should not miss this unique cultural fiesta.
