Mangalore: Grieving Families Bid Farewell to crew Member Rana, Joel

Mangalore, May 28: Family members of Yuganthar Rana, crew of Air India Express IX 812, performed his last rites at Nandigudda Hindu crematorium on Thursday May 27.

Yuganthar, aged 28, was one of the six crew members aboard the ill-fated aircraft that crashed on Saturday May 22. His brother-in-law Len Dup Sherpa and younger brother Roopantar Rana performed the last rites in the presence of his sister Bhavana Rana. The family decided to perform the last rites in the city and will take the ashes to their native place.













Rana was the only breadwinner of the family after joining Air India, informed his family. He is the son of late C D Rana who was a school headmaster in Darjeeling. His mother Panchami Rana and younger brother Roopantar live at their house in Kalinpong in Darjeeling.

Aarom Joel Fernandes 

The final rites of Aaron Joel Fernandes (17) were held at Nandigudda graveyard with a worshipful prayer service on Thursday.    

Aarom Joel Fernandes, PUC student of St Aloysius College in the city, had been to Dubai to meet his mother and father during the summer vacation.











His father Fedric Fernandes and mother Nirmala Fernandes have been in Dubai since the past 15 years.  Aarom’s younger brother Eden (7), lives in Dubai. 

Aarom was living at their house in Jeppu along with his grandmother to attend college and would fly to Dubai during vacations.

Besides relatives and neighbours of Aarom, several friends also witnessed his last rites.

    It was very sad to hear about Aaron's demise. May his soul rest in peace. Mr.Fedric is my colleague and we all know him as a jovial person. May the Lord give him strength to bear the loss of his son.

    aaron may god almighty keep u safe with him in heaven,and definitly your blessings to your parents from god,they are so nice parents for very good son,like u,but what to do a great loss for them,they miss u also we miss u your grandma will miss u a lot,you being her strength.
