Mangalore: All Religion Condolence Meet to Mourn Crash Victims’ Held

Mangalore, May 30: The plane crash at Bajpe airport on May 22 last has sent all local citizens alike into sadness. Let us hope such tragedy may not repeat itself, said Palemar seer Sri Vidyadeeshateertha Swamiji.
He was speaking at the condolence meet organized here at the Bunts Hostel on Saturday May 28 to pay tribute to the crash victims. “Life is precious and when we lose our dear ones it is irreplaceable feeling. I only pray that god gives strength to the kith and kins of the victims to bear the loss gracefully, added seer.
Fr Denis Moras of Mangalore diocese said that death is inevitable and it is wise to live life filled with harmony, peace and brotherhood.
Mangalore kazi Al-haj Twaka Ahmed Musliyar said that time is the ultimate decider and everything comes to a naught against time. The world is changing at a fast pace and people no longer can have faith on what’s in store from life, he observed.
Speaking at the meet, Udupi MP D V Sadananda Gowda expressed his deep condolence to the victims of the crash and termed the incident as the most of unfortunate in recent times. He assured that earnest efforts will be made to extend runway and also strengthen security arrangements at the airposrt.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel assured that all the people’s representatives will unitedly pressurize the state and central government to expedite and adequately provide compensation and relief to the victims’ families.
On the occasion, a memorandum demanding single window system wherein all the facilities with regard to relief and compensation are available at a place to aid the victims’ families from outside the region was submitted to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was submitted through Mangalore MLA U T Khader.
MLAs N Yogish Bhat, Abhaychandra jain, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Sikh religious leader Gyani Balraj Singh Yakshagana artiste and politician Kumble Sunder Rao among others were present.
Committee convenor Ajith Kumar Rai Malady delivered the introductory address. Dakshina Kannada Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura read out the memorandum. Congress district vice-pressident Ivan D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
