Mangalore: ‘Kevin Misquith Musical Nite’ Pays Tribute to Legendary Konkani Singers

Mangalore, May 31: Milestone Music Concert led by up and coming Konkani singer Kevin Misquith and his group presented ‘Kevin Misquith Musical Nite’ at Don Bosco Hall on Sunday May 30. It was held to pay tribute to legendary Konkani singers.
Fr Antony Lobo, parish priest, Sacred Heart parish, Suratkal, was the chief guest of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Lobo called on Konkans to author books on the families of veteran Konkani singers for the new generations to derive inspiration in order to strive for taking Konkani music to greater heights.
The singers Ashwin, Kevin Misquith, Robin Sequeira, Lavita Lobo, Rolph D'souza and Sherin Walder enthralled the audience with hit songs of legendary singers Albert Pinto, Henry T D’Souza, Jerome D’Souza, Chris Perry, Mic max, Ullas Buyao and Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus
City-based Mandd Sobhann promoted dance troupe Naach Sobhann presented Konkani folk dances during the intervals in the music concert.
Public tribute was paid during the concert for the victims of the recent air crash that took place at Kenjar, Bajpe Airport, on Saturday May 22.
Music lovers were present in large numbers for the musical concert to support Misquith and his group of promising singers on the occasion.
Musician Sanjay Rodrigues assisted on the keyboard while Ashwin Sequeira was on lead guitar, Floyd on base guitar, Milan Baptist on drums, and Sweetin on saxophone.
Roshan D’Souza Belman compered the programme.
‘Milestone Band’ is one of the most youthful and talented music bands of the city.
Milestone has carved out a place for itself in the hearts of the Konkans in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts despite the fact that it was set up just a year ago in 2009.
