Mangaluru: Dharmasthala’s car-cum-cart hogs limelight again

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 26: The car-cum-cart (bandicaru in Kannada) has come to the fore again after getting limelight during the Laksha Deepotsava at Dharmasthala. Anand Mahindra, chief of Mahindra & Mahindra, has now posted a tweet accompanied by a video of the car.

The cart-cum-car has the back portion of a car in the rear with two bullocks in the front. A video of a farmer driving the cart has been widely circulated in the web. Anand Mahindra, who has tweeted the video, has posed question to the chief executive officer of Tesla, the world leader in electric cars, in a comic but constructive way.

"I do not think a car using fuel that costs less than this can be manufactured. This is a car that has renewable source of energy if Methane gas is used. I am not sure though about its smoke emission level," he tweeted.

This car-cum-cart was conceptualised by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.

After Pakoda economics, clapping hands in the night, we have another joke coming up.
I wonder why the protectors of cows not raising voice against the helpless bull doing such a dirty job??

Disgusting to see such animal cruelties inflicted on a helpless animal animal. Does any one realize that pulling half the weigh5 of an old car chassis is so tiring to the animal . Look at the shape the animal is in.! Just bones and skeleton. Such practices should be banned and any person who rides such a cart should be ridiculed and shunned. This happens only in a country where the bull and the cows are worshipped but treated so badly! What a shame!

After lockdown and covid, the economy is in such a bad shape, that I am also thinking of converting my old car into car-cum-cart. No RTO, no number plate, no towing problem.(As long as the bullocks are not labelled as cows)
