The work of laying this 444 km long pipeline began in the year 2009. As per the original plans, the line, which was estimated to cost Rs 2,915 crore, was to be completed by 2014. But because of the need to comply with safety measures, increase in the cost of land acquired etc, the project was delayed and the project cost soared to Rs 5,750 crore, sources stated.

There were many large scale consumers for this gas such as FACT, MCF , MFL, Manali andCPCL. So it was not meant for MCF alone. FACT is also drawing gas from this terminal, though MFL supplies from this terminal could not materialise due to land acquisition for laying the gas pipeline from Kochi terminal.

Complying with the safety measures shall not be a reason for the delay.

how will he get the time once he was busy travelling round the world (which didn't fruit) next inaugurating functions and projects started by others then after Covid-19 he had to do it from closed doors as virtual functions.
any how i don't think farmers have any belief in him because

“15 lakh in every bank account & 2 crore jobs every year”
"Give me 50 days time, else..."
"We will win war against Corona in 21 days"
"Neither has anyone intruded into our territory nor took over any post”
    "gas from gutter"
    "clouds for fighters"
    etc

Real pipeline through virtual inauguration is better than virtual pipeline with real inauguration. Cost has gone up as those in-charge have negotiated with land owners and inflated the compensation with an agreement that they would give 50% to the official who increased the compensation.

For instance, where the line passed between Inoli and Konaje the original compensation was Rs. 9,000/= per cent of land. The official negotiated with the land owner and agreed to increase it almost to Rs. 60,000/=per cent with explicit agreement and arrangement that Rs. 30,000/= per each cent of land would go to the officials who increased the compensation. So, the land owner gets now gets after FIXING Rs. 25,000/= for each cent of land instead of Rs. 9,000/=. Both are happy.

I am happy that the land owner was compensated but shocked how these officials make money unofficially through dubious means.
Any way, delighted, finally Gas pipeline would be inaugurated. When the Gas would flow is another issue.

    Please note these points
Project initiated and implemented in 2009 and supposed to be completed by 2014. Which was not completed because of property / area acquisition hurdles, that is when present government was in opposition. Congratulations ribbon cutting is agreed without efforts.

Hats up to the opposition prior to 2014, for not providing support and doubling the cost of the project as of date at tax payers cost and taking the opportunity to cut the ribbon.

Till date all major projects budgeted and, under constructions prior to 2014, inauguration /ribbon cutting done without efforts after 2014.

Are there any mega projects initiated after 2014 (without changing the original names)
What a wonderful era we are in
