Puttur, Jun 5: A resident of Bajpe in Mangalore who was an agent in a finance company was found murdered in Kodimbadi near Uppinangady on Saturday June 5.
The murdered man is Gangadhara Achar (55), resident of Bajpe and agent of Bharath Finance in Pandeswara.
The police confirmed his death as a murder for gain as the victim had Rs 1.15 lac . The body was found in a 15 ft deep ditch near Kodimabady near Uppinangady.
Gangadhar’s family had lodged a missing person complaint at Bunder police station in Mangalore on Friday June 4.
The Puttur police found the body during a search based on information from the Bunder police after they tracked the tower location of Gangadhar’s cell phone.
As per the police, the murdered had been to Uppinangdy as he was invited by a person who introduced himself as Ganesh, a resident of Kodimabady.
Ganesh had requested Gangadhar to solve his financial problems by retrieving a gold hypothecation from a finance company in Uppinangady. Police informed that he was trapped for the money.
Assistant superintendent of police Amit Singh visited the spot and a case has been registered in Puttur town police station.
