Mangalore, Jun 7: “The Lord decides upon the fruits we deserve to get, in accordance with the work we do and duties we discharge. He keeps watching what we do or say. To be able to gain divine grace and get good fruits for our labour, one should always stick to righteousness and do only what is right,” advised Sri Bharatiteertha Swamiji of Sringeri Sharada Peetha. He was delivering the benedictory address during his visit to Lord Gopalakrishna temple in Shaktinagar, on the outskirts of the city on Sunday June 6.

“Our eligibility to be conferred with status, power or riches, is decided by the extent of divine grace we earn. One should cultivate the habit to be dispassionate, and condition his or her mind to accept happiness and sorrow without any undue elation or worries. Nursing of enmity and egotism will not take you anywhere. On the other hand, love can win over anyone and anything,” he preached.

The Swamiji said that the life of a human gets sanctified when he regularly keeps worshipping the Almighty with a sense of total faith, reverence and devotion. “Indians have always been known to be theists since times immemorial. We should continue to be so,” he exhorted.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, J Krishna Palemar, MLA, N Yogish Bhat, inspector general of police (western range), Gopal Hosur, Corporation Bank chairman, J M Garg, general manager, B R Bhat, former MLC, Balakrishna Bhat etc., were present.

Lord Gopalakrishna Temple managing trustee, K C Naik, welcomed. Administrator, Krishnakumar, proposed vote of thanks.

Perhaps the time has come to seriously consider distributing the wealth of the religious centers for free education of the needy as against contunuing with rehabilitation of the lazy from one particular caste or religion

Abslutely george..love, peace happiness and moral values are fundamental backbones of all religion.. those who know this eternal truth like the priests and saints and seers/Moulavis see no difference in divinity. The difference is human nature..things are good when things around you are good. Don't you think the tribal nature of humans in ascertaining their territories and rights and egos' are the main cause of this division? It isn't ritual, culture or language. it is about values. Hope people raise above their egos and live amicably!

If we listen carefully and put into practical life, what the Swamiji has taught, life can be  very fruitful.

Love is a powerful force and it can win anybody in due time. On the other hand, hatred is a
destructive force which will engulf everybody in total destruction.

I wonder when all the Major religions of the world preaches "Love Peace and Happiness" mantra then why we practice "Hate War and Sorrow" Mantra?? When I gone through Sri Bharatitheertha Swamiji's sermon I was thrilled to note the contents. I found the essence of his sermon is same as our Priest's. Then what is dividing our thinking?? May be the rituals, language and culture of which we have inherited from our Parents. Am I right??
