Mangaluru: APD Foundation Hasiru Dala to hold campaign against disposing waste into Netravathi River

Mangaluru, Jan 16: APD Foundation, Hasiru Dala is organizing a unique campaign at Nethravathi Bridge to prevent people from discarding waste into the Netravathi River. This initiative is being supported by Mangaluru City Corporation and Ullal Nagara Sabha.

The campaign will be for six days from Monday January 18 to Saturday January 23 from 6 am to 9 am. A large number of volunteers from APD Foundation - Hasiru Dala and many other associated organizations will assemble along the bridge at break of dawn to create awareness among the people to desist from dumping waste into the river. a human chain will be formed along the bridge and other activities are also planned.

Rayappa, commissioner of Ullal Nagara Sabha is expected to participate in the campaign at 8.00 am on Monday January 18. Many other civic officials and people’s representatives have promised to participate on other days of this campaign.

Netravathi River is the lifeline of Mangaluru city. The co-operation of every citizen is required to keep it pollution-free.
