Bengaluru, Jan 20: As both the BJP and the JD(S) have repeatedly served notice expressing no-confidence in the chairman of the legislative council, Prathapachandra Shetty, it is learnt, Shetty has decided to resign from the post.
He has decided to hold election to the post of the deputy chairman, which is vacant, on January 29. He also has indicated about his decision to resign after holding this election, highly placed sources said.
Shetty is disturbed by the pandemonium which broke out when the no-confidence motion was expected to be moved. He has already returned the car and house allotted to him by the government.
