Dubai: Mukamar Parishioners Launch 'Little Flowers' - Godwin Corda President

Dubai, Jun 19: Parishioners of Mukamar (Shirva Varado, Udupi) spread around UAE have come together to launch a forum 'Little Flowers, Mukamar here on Friday Jun 18. The formal inauguration of the association will be held at Al Mas Residency here on September 30.
The meeting took place at Winny's Restaurant, Karama. Under the guidance of Dayan D’Souza new comittee has been formed with Godwin Corda as president, Reshma Lobo as vice-president, Sundeep D’Souza as secretary, Shalini Rasto as joint secretary,
Praveen D’Souza as treasurer, Henry Barboza as cultural secretary and Reena Fernandes as public relations officer.
Silvia Sequeira, Praveen Nazareth, Johnson Mendonca, Cyril Fernandes, Roy Saldanha, Saritha D’Souza and Vincent Fernandes were selected as core committee members, while Jerald Fernandes for Fujairah, Sundeep Mendonca for Al ain, Glen Fernandes for Sharjah and Wilson D’Souza Abu Dhabhi as zonal representatives.
Rolwin Mathias has been selected as Mukamar parish representative, while Dayan D’Souza and Lancy Dsouza are the advisors.
The announcement on Daijiworld received a tremendous response from the parishioners as over 60 members of the parish from various places gathered for the first meet. Also, there were number of entries suggesting name for the new forum. CGS Taccode's 'Little Flowers Mukarmar' (Mukamarchem Lhan Fhul' was chosen through lots. CGS will receive a prize for choosing the name.
The meet began with the prayer from Rajesh D'Souza, followed by Praveen Nazareth’s welcome speech. Dayan D'Souza, popular leader of Konkani community, who hails from Mukamar briefed the members of the parishioners about the importance of unity, and the need for such forum to help each other and also back home. Godwin Corda, who took keen interest in initating this forum has been unanmously elected as first president of Little Flowers Mukamar.
