Kundapur, Feb 17: Mass marriages were held in the Amrutheshwari Temple at Kota on Wednesday, February 17 under the Saptapadi Vivah Yojana of the muzrai department.

Organizing and conducting a wedding requires a lot of money. Therefore, in order to help the poor and middle-class families, the state government's mass marriage scheme provides much-needed support. Dr D Veerendra Hegde, G Shankar Family Trust, Ambalpadi and several other elites contributed to this noble cause. Muzrai minister Kota Srinivas Poojary stated that this project introduced by the state government has proved to be a ray of hope for those in need.

Thousands of people were witnesses to the mass marriage ceremony at the temple. The team of priests in the leadership of Vedamurthi Madhusoodan performed religious rituals. 10 couples got married on a platform created by temple president Anand Sikandar. Sobani songs were sung at the ceremony.

Brahmavar taluk panchayat president Jyothi Uday Poojary, taluk panchayat member Lalita, temple trustee Sushila Somashekar, Jyothi B Shetty and minister’s wife Sharada lighted the diya and congratulated the couples.
