Mumbai, Jul 12: A former model, Natasha Padbidri was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her apartment in Yari Road, Petricorn building, in suburban Versova here on Sunday July 11. The 30-year-old model’s death comes a couple of weeks after the suicide of former supermodel Viveka Babajee.
Her family members told police on Saturday July 10 night Natasha had dinner with all them in the ground-floor flat and later went back to her apartment after the dinner. Her family owns two flats in the building, and Natasha stayed alone in one flat while family lived in the other. Later on Sunday morning, her mother tried to call her on her cellphone to come down for the breakfast, but there was no reply.
Natasha’s maid was the first one to have discovered her body. She had locked herself in her room and hanged herself by her dupatta. Maid after being unanswered peeped through the keyhole and later reported it to the family members. Soon Natasha's mother and two brothers went to her flat and knocked at the door. As there was no response, they called a duplicate key maker and opened the door to find her hanging in her bedroom.
Police informed the media that she never responded to her family as they kept calling her in the morning. It was around 10.30 am when the maid peeped through the keyhole and found Natasha Padbidri hanging from the fan. After a primary investigation, the cops sent Natasha Padbidri’s body for an autopsy.
Police also said that no suicide note has been recovered. They added that she was under treatment for depression at Bombay Hospital since 2006. Police said that all possibilities like professional failure, financial trouble or relationship problems will be explored during investigations.
The model never had any huge success and had no financial difficulties. Her parents were affluent and she herself drove a Mercedes. Natasha’s death has surprised many people in the fashion industry.
