Minister Sriramulu’s Secret Mission
Bangalore, Jul 16 (DHNS): Health Minister Sriramulu is learnt to have had some discussions in detail with a few notorious rowdy-sheeters at the Central Prisons Parappana Agrahara during his secret visit on Tuesday.
“The minister and four other MLAs from Bellary district met three rowdy-sheeters who are charged with major offences-Bettanagere Manja from Nelamangala, Chandregouda from Bellary district and Katte Naga,” sources in the police department told Deccan Herald.
The police arrested Chandregouda in connection with the murder of a taluk panchayat president. Bettanagere Manja and Katte Naga were arrested for murder and other serious offences. Sriramulu reportedly spent much time in those places where most of the notorious rowdy-sheeters have been kept. He spoke to Chandregouda for more than 10 minutes.
He also spent more than half an hour with Bettanagere Manja, sources said. It is not known what were the ‘issues’ discussed.
Sriramulu paid a surprise visit to the Prisons around 2 pm on Tuesday. He spent nearly three hours in the prisons. He spent more time for his talks with rowdies instead of asking for medical facilities.
He reportedly called some of the rowdies from in and around Bellary and talked to them in a separate room. Interestingly, the Prisons officials were sent out of the room when the rowdies entered for ‘talks’, said sources.
The minister also visited cells of other inmates and asked them about the problems in the Prisons. Sriramulu’s visit was kept as a top secret.
Interestingly, he had not taken any of the officials of his department with him.
