Udupi, Mar 22: A two-day long conference on agriculture was held at MGM College here. The event highlighted the value of cultivation in agriculture to the students and people present in the conference. While discussions on farming were in progress on one side, food was being prepared and souvenirs were being sold on the other end.

Vegetables of various kinds, seeds, medicinal plants, farming products attracted the crowd. The college campus was converted into a farmers' market for two days.

Several products such as handbags, baskets, pen stands, earthen pots were sold at the conference. Fruits, medicinal nuts, chilli, tea, tamarind lollipop, Mattu Gulla and pizza were prepared.

All the vegetables were sold in a matter of a few minutes once the people gathered in huge number. An aesthetically pleasing sleeping Buddha was prepared by a potter from Perdoor.

The programme was a platform for the farmers and the employees to sell their products. It was also an effort to show the modern generation the life of agriculture.
