Kundapur: Over thirty BJP activists join Congress

Kundapur, Apr 8: Over 30 BJP activists from Gangolli joined Congress party on Thursday. Former MLA Gopala Poojary at his residence at Katbelthur presented Congress party shawls, Congress party banner and welcomed them to the party.

MLA Gopala Poojary said that the upcoming district panchayat elections are considered as a challenge and the party will be united starting from Gangolli. “Several BJP activists in Trasi district panchayat limits are contacting us under the charge of Congress leader Sharath Kumar Shetty. They will be welcomed in the party. People are weeping because of price rises. A united rally on foot will be held from Trasi to Gangolli opposing the price rise of the union government. I am grateful to all those who came to the party with a liking to my leadership without expecting anything,” he said.

Trasi district panchayat in charge Sharath Kumar Shetty, women’s Congress president Manjula Devadiga, rural Congress president Surendra Kharvi, Youth congress president Pradeep Gangolli, Block vice president Zaheer and Gangolli Vandse block Youth Congress president Prashanth Karki were present.
