Mangaluru: People awaiting second dose to get priority in anti-Covid vaccine - DC

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Apr 30: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra on Friday, April 30, said that those waiting for the second dose of vaccination will get priority while scheduling vaccine sessions.

He also said, “At the moment, we have a limited supply of anti-Covid vaccine doses. There are many waiting in line for the second dose of vaccine. Hence, the first priority will be given to those who are awaiting the second dose of Covishield. There is no scope for on the spot registration for vaccination.

“People need to take online appointments for the first dose of Covishield. As per the availability of vaccination, appointments will be given. After receiving the message from the concerned hospital or health centre, people can go to take the vaccination. In one or two days, we are expecting to receive sufficient doses of vaccine,” he said.

Congress delegation submits memorandum to DC

Congress’ delegation led by former MLA Ramanath Rai and J R Lobo submitted a memorandum to DC Dr Rajendra regarding rising Covid cases in the district and 12 measures to tackle the fast-spreading pandemic.

The memorandum mentioned an increase in ventilators, shortage of nurses and doctors, appointment of PG medical students, private doctors, ensuring that there is no scarcity of oxygen and vaccinations in every centre, and immediate Covid test result. Congress, in the memorandum, also demanded that the information regarding the availability of bed should be available in the public domain, the nodal officer should be appointed to every taluk and their contact details should be shared through media to the public, blood donation camp should be conducted, as there might be the possibility of a shortage of blood once the vaccination begins for people aged over 18 years, provide oxygen kit to houses, information of the ambulance should be given to the public and fix the price of ambulance per kilometre used to avoid being overcharged.

I recently visited the primary health center to check if the vaccine is available and the place was over crowded. I saw senior citizens waiting in the queue without social distancing. Sad to see people being ignorant to safety precautions.

The SC has allowed spot registration as online registration is not possible to many people. So DC may withdraw/modify order accordingly

"People awaiting second dose to get priority in anti-Covid -Vaccine - DC" this statement of DC implies that there are no enough vaccines for those who needed the most and our Feku sitting at the center ahs declared 18+ will get vaccines from May1 onwards. HE IS GOOD ONLY FOR BULLSHITTING AND NOTHING ELSE.

Yes but please everyone should register and go otherwise you'll have to stand in a huge line just for registration. You can register in the app itself but don't choose any slot or time go directly after registration. That's what I did 😁

You cannot choose which you want. They won't even tell you which you have got you will receive a sms in 3 hours in that it will tell which vaccine you have got. And btw both the vaccines are safe and effective why differentiate then?

Covaxin is not available but nothing to worry if you have taken one dose.Your body will be primed by the first dose and some antibodies will be there (not full strength) the memory cells, T cells and B cells will be able to fight the virus. If you take the second dose on time it is better , but if there is a delay, nothing to worry.Oxygen or vaccines everything is mismanaged.
