Vibrant Display of Culture at Kalkura Pratistana's 'Jeevana Chakra'

Mangalore, Aug 7: Kalkura Pratistana organized ‘Jeevana Chakra,’ a programme depicting the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the country, in collaboration with Kannada and cultural department at SDM Law College here on Saturday August 7.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat, welcomed the gathering and said that the programme was specially designed to create awareness among children about the rich culture prevailing in India, thus helping to sustain it.
The chief guests of the programme were Jayaram Hande, general manager, Karnataka Bank, and Devaraj K, principal, SDM College. Invocation to lord Ganesh was performed by a school boy.
Children and various ladies club members enacted different customs followed by people in the country such as naming ceremonies, Brahmopadesham, lullabies, wedding anniversary programmes and so on.
Mangala V Naik, assistant director, Kannada and cultural department, also participated in the event.
