Bantwal, Aug 10: Four youngsters, who moved around in a Muruti Gypsy vehicle and posed themselves as members of a special police task force, were arrested by the local policemen on Monday August 9. Their vehicle was also confiscated.

The arrested men have been identified as Shreyas (23) and Rajaramya (27), both from Banashankari, Bangalore, Santosh Kumar (24) and Santosh alias Kumar (26) from Raghavendra Nagar, Bangalore.

Reportedly, the foursome strolled around the toll gate here and demanded production of documents from the drivers of several trucks parked there. They also allegedly collected money from these drivers. After having food at a hotel there, they threatened the cashier when payment was demanded, telling him that being policemen, they were exempt from such payments.

The policemen, who were tipped off, went to the spot and took the four men into custody. They said that all the four are employed in a private firm in Bangalore, and that while returning from Mangalore after attending to official work, they indulged in this mischief.
