Mumbai, Aug 13: St John Institute of Management and Research College, Palgar, was inaugurated on Thursday August 12.
Br T V George, deputy superior, Franciscan Brothers, inaugurated the newly-built college on Thursday morning.
Br George, in his inaugural address, said that all parents expect their children to be well-educated and carve a better future. “Disciplined study throughout higher education will secure a better future for the students”, he said.
Bishop Felix A Machado of suburban Vasai diocese blessed the new college.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Machado said that life without future thinking is not worthwhile. “Modern education equips students to set long term goals”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Bishop commended Aldel Education Trust for starting colleges in the rural area of Palgar with the aim of making quality education affordable to underprivileged students.
Aldel Education Trust chairman Albert W D’Souza, in his welcome address, said that national progress depends on the advancement of rural areas through education. “With this clear objective, Aldel Education Trust has set up education institutions in Palgar”, he said.
Dr Satish Taklikar, Dr Savita Tauro, and Dr Latha Ramachandran, principals of various education institutions promoted by Aldel Education Trust, and advisor Dr S Krishnamurthi also spoke on the occasion.
Fudar Pratistan president John D’Silva, Gladys J D’Silva, lawyers Pius Vaz and Genevieve Vaz, Walter Buthello, Frank Louis, and William R D’Souza of Model Bank, were present on the occasion.
Trust directors Elvina A D’Souza and Aldrej D’Souza introduced the guests.
