MLA Raghupati Bhat requests CM to 'unlock' Udupi district

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Jun 19: MLA Raghupati Bhat has urged the state government to give additional relaxation in the Covid-induced lockdown to Udupi district.

In an appeal to chief minister B S Yediyurappa on social media, Bhat said, "More relaxations have been given to 16 districts in the state where positivity rate is below 5%. I urge CM Yediyurappa to include Udupi in this list. Udupi is testing more than 3,000 samples on a daily basis. Only 5.5% positivity rate is reported in the district. On this basis, unlock process can begin in Udupi.

“The district is testing more than 3,000 samples on daily. The positivity rate has decreased drastically in recent days. As per the state government order, districts with below 5% of the positivity rates have been unlocked and many additional relaxations are also allowed. Udupi has missed the list,” he said.
