Daijiworld Media Network – Panaji (MS)

Panaji, Jun 26: The curfew which is in place all over the state is likely to be extended further though the cases of Covid are receding. This information was given by CM Pramod Sawant on Friday June 25.

The curfew was extended till June 28 by the state government on June 19. Accordingly, it is supposed to end on Monday. However, the CM said that in all probability it will be extended further.

The CM further said that people who are entering the state from other states are being screened and kept in isolation if any suspicion of Covid is found. Laboratories are also established for the same purpose. Hospitals dedicated to Covid treatment throughout the state are denotified and allowed to carry out the OPD services. But they can be notified again according to the situation.

According to Pramod Sawant, OPDs in hospitals will be started as monsoon has begun in the state and infections of cold and flu will be more. Now only south Goa district hospital and the super-specialty block of Goa medical college are reserved as Covid hospitals.

Though the cases that are active of Covid-19 have reached below 3000, the threat of Delta plus variant is looming large.
