Jeddah, Jul 1: People living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are accessing Umluj, one of the rarities of the country that was hidden for a long time for vacationing during the pandemic.
The beach is ideal for people who prefer a calm and cool beach with sun and sand to relax. Umluj’s natural surroundings are soothing to the eyes with blue and turquoise shades. But other options of leisure are not available at the beach. So at the most, it is like winding down the weekend sort of destination.
According to a visitor, engineer by profession, who visited Umluj last year when the lockdown was lifted, Umluj has everything he and his 10 friends needed. They stayed in a tent and had fresh seafood for lunch and dinner. In addition, delicious breakfast, beach excursions, fishing and stargazing in the night also helped them to wind down their stress of the working week.
Umluj beach is one of 100 islands that need to be explored still. It also has activities like snorkeling, diving and discovering virgin reefs. Kayaking sports is also available on the beach.
The visitors have the options of staying in local hotels or in tents on the beach. It is not only the beach that attracts the holidaymakers to Umluj. Hikers can also have a good time in the Sarawat Mountains which is on the east side of the beach.
Saudi Summer Vibes, a programme launched by the Tourism Authority of the Kingdom, will run from June 24 to September 30. It covers 11 tourist destinations offering more than 500 tourist experiences. There are more than 250 private partners who have joined hands with the authority in this business.
