Mangalore: Traditional Monti Fest Mark Celebrations at Milagres Parish

Mangalore, Sep 8:  To mark Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary, Monti Fest celebrations at our Lady of Miracles parish here on Wednesday September 8.

The procession carried infant Mary in a tableau decorated with flowers from Milagres Church hall to the church. Retired Archbishop Ignatius Pinto blessed the procession.

Parishioners carried paddy crops and children carried flowers and walked along the procession where thousands participated with lot of joy and also welcomed Mother to church with all faith. Retired Archbishop Ignatius Pinto offered due honor to Infant Mother Mary while her entry into church.

 

The road was filled with the festive atmosphere with rain playing no dampener.

The other priests namely parish priest Fr William D’Mello and assistant parish priest Fr Thomas Roshan D’Souza joined the prayer and mass concelebrated by Rtd Archbishop Ignatius Pinto.

Parish council vice-president Alwyn Rosario was also present.

    ALL phots shown were nice..but one suggestion why all the tableau trucks were not displayed to see..this is from milagres parish
