Mangalore: Rains Turn Lighter in Coast

Mangalore, Sep 13: The people in the state’s coastal districts could celebrate Ganesha Chaturthi in a grand way on Saturday and Sunday, as the rain god showed mercy on them, and the climate remained sunny for most part of both the days.

On Sunday, except for intermittent showers for a short period, there was no rain in the coast. Subrahmanya and Sullia however, received rain coupled with thunder. There was some rain on the night of Sunday and Monday morning. The quantum of rain received was less than one cm in all these places.

The predictions valid till Tuesday morning, provided by the state meteorological department, has said that light showers will be experienced in the coast and some parts of the hinterland.
