Kundapur: Local Youth Rescue Sea Bird at Padugopady

Kundapur, Sep 14: A sea bird was found in Padugopady in Beejady gram panchayat, near here, recently.

The members of the local youth club rescued the bird and handed it over to the care of Sudhindra Aithal’s private zoo in Saligrama.

The sea bird weighs 3 - 4 kg and its wing span is about five feet.

I agree with Ravindranatha, i hope Zoo owner will allow the Sea Bird to fly to its own destination. let Nature take its own course.

Very big bird.. Could any one tell the name of this bird. I never seen this kind of bird before.

Good job rescuing the bird. But why hand it over to a zoo? Why not release it in its natural environment? Conservation is essential but not by keeping these birds captive in a zoo. What are the wildlife officials for?

I don’t think sea bird can stay in sweet water environment.

A thoughtful gesture by local youth. It should encourage people to respond sensitively to creatures in distress.Once rehabilitated, the bird will surely find its wings.

What kind of rescue it is!!. Handing over the SEA bird to a private zoo owner. What this sea bird will do in a private zoo.

I request the rescuer / zoo owner to give the first aid to the bird and allow it to fly away, so it will find its destination.
