Kuwait : Nativity Feast Celebration by Abbasiya Family

Kuwait,Sep 18: Abbasiya Families Kuwait celebrated the feast of nativity on Friday 17th September 2010 at Integrated Indian School premises.
The program started with general welcome by Ronnie. The statue of Mother Mary was brought in a procession to the stage with the children carrying fresh flowers along with Fr. Alban D’Souza, Fr. George and Fr. John Harry D’Souza. Hymns were sung by the choir members. Flowers were offered and showered by a record number of kids in a very traditional way. First time mass in Konkani was offered during the celebration. Mangalore’s harvest Paddy grain was blessed by Fr. Harry during mass and distributed to the gathered. Children were overwhelmed with rarely seen ‘sugarcane’ (Kobu) which gave complete enjoyment of feast.
Priests, Sister’s of Carmel school, Gurkars of the day, sponsors and the people who worked for the success of the program were felicitated with flowers There were a row of entertainment programs like dances, hymns, skit, action songs etc while the guests were served the traditional feast dinner prepared by M & M Caterers & confectionery. Various hymns were sung by the Choir group. The grace before meal was offered by Sr. Carmel Ann. Ronny Alva delivered the vote of thanks. The Program was well compered by Ronnie, Gladys, Nicol and Jessica. A large number of people attended the program witnessing the love towards Mangalorean tradition.
