Bantwal, Aug 15: Blood Helpline Karnataka and BK Boys Arts & Sports Club uniquely celebrated the platinum jubilee of India's Independence Day by organising a voluntary blood donation campaign.
BK Boys Arts & Sports Club Bangara Kodi Bolanthoor and Blood Helpline Karnataka (R) in association with Indian Red Cross society blood bank Mangaluru, has successfully organised a voluntary public blood donation campaign at government higher primary school Bolanthoor to mark the 75th Indian Independence Day.
Amidst the fear of the Covid-19 virus, a total of 106 Individuals had come forward to donate the precious blood by taking all the precautionary guidelines set by government, thus paying tribute to the great Indian freedom fighters who had lost their life in the battle for freedom.
The programme was inaugurated by Maulana Hameed Musliyar, and was presided over by SDMC president Ismail. SDMC member Umarabba, Usman B, Muhammad B, Hareesh V, president of BK Boys Mustafa Bangarakodi, Ansar BG, and Coordinators of Blood helpline Karnataka (R) were present during the programme.
The organisers thanked all the donors for voluntarily coming forward to donate the blood, school teaching and non-teaching staff and SDMC for their support, staff of Indian Red Cross society for their assistance in procuring the blood, representatives from media, and the general public for their direct and indirect support in making the programme a grand success.
