Bengaluru, Aug 26: The government First grade college at Car Street in Mangaluru will start functioning in the evening hours also. The state government has given this opportunity for degree students. This college will be one of the 11 colleges, situated in city corporations, throughout the state, where evening degree classes will begin.

The evening classes in government colleges in the state are being started under the Sandhya Shakti scheme of the government. An order to this effect was taken by deputy secretary of higher education T C Kantharaj. This is published in the income and expenditure announcement that was made for the year 2021-22.

The classes will be held on a trial basis. The basic infrastructure that is available in the college will be used for the students who would like to study in evening colleges. At present the courses available are only BCom and BCA.

The 11 colleges where the evening colleges will start functioning are Government first grade college, Car Street, Mangaluru, Government R C College, Bengaluru, Government first grade womens’ college Belagavi, Government first grade college, B H Road, Tumkur, Government first grade college, Kuvempu Nagara, Mysuru, Government first grade college, Shivamogga, Government first grade college, MCC Block, Davanagere, Government first grade college, Kumareshwar Nagar, Dharwad, Government first grade college, Navabagh Qwaza Colony, Bijapur, Government first grade college, Sedam Road, Gulbarga and Mrs Saraladevi Satishchandra Agarwal government first grade college, Ballari.
