Bengaluru, Aug 29: Karnataka on Sunday August 29 recorded 1,262 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 18,758. Among the districts, Bengaluru Urban registered the highest number of single-day cases with 361 new infections, while Dakshina Kannada reported 202 new cases.

As many as 17 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Bengaluru accounting for 6 deaths and Dakshina Kannada 3. With this, the toll so far has risen to 37,278.

The state recorded 1,384 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 28,91,193.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,47,255 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.70%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.34%.

As many as 4,09,76,141 people have received vaccination so far.
