Mangaluru: Buffalo found dead with throat slit - One detained

Mangaluru, Aug 30: A buffalo was found dead after its throat split open at Balya in Koliya under Ullal police station limits here on Sunday August 29.

The incident took place near the farm of one Jayaram Rai.

As the incident came to light, members of Hindu organisations gathered there and alleged that Jayaram had killed the buffalo along with others.

It is said that a sharp weapon was used to slit the buffalo’s throat. Locals informed the matter to right wing organisations. A scooter was traced on the spot. After killing the buffalo, it is alleged that the accused fled from the spot leaving scooter on the spot.

Arjun Madoor of one of the Hindu organisations complained to Ullal police sub-inspector Sandeep S that Jayaram along with others killed the buffalo. Hence, the police detained Jayaram for the further inquiry.

    Humans are killed without any reasons, while representing womans as goddess, they are raped and killed like trash every day ... nothing is being done on that. These people are insane, not humans coz Humans have Humanity. Involving religion just for own personal benefit, on the other hand they never help people of their own religion in need.     People have forgotten Mangaluru's traditions. For the annual Mari puja event, buffaloes were sacrificed in large numbers. Dozens were sacrificed near each Mari gudi. After 1920s, the buffalo sacrifice seems to have gradually stopped. But rooster sacrifice continues to this day.

    We Hindus and Christians change our customs and rituals to cope up with the current world. We have already left out Sati, dowry, parda, animal sacrifice etc. etc. The pope has invited transgenders to Vatican. Byzantine era Emperors and men in higher positions used wear red colored shoes, a symbol of power and position. Since Pope Francis believed that he is just the Vicar of Christ and a normal human being, he declined to wear those and opted for black shoes. Do not criticize him.
