Udupi, Aug 30: In the incident where a man stabbed woman in broad daylight here on Monday August 30, the woman was declared brought dead at the hospital. 

The deceased is 28-year-old Soumyashree Bhandary. The man who stabbed her is Sandesh Kulal (28). 

The incident took place near Santhekatte petrol pump.

It maybe recalled, earlier in the evening on Monday, the man waylaid the woman on the road when she was travelling on her scooter. He then stabbed her in the stomach with a knife. He then slit his own throat.

Both were crtically injured and rushed to the hospital.

Udupi, Aug 30: In a shocking incident, a man stabbed a woman and then tried to end life by slitting his own throat, here on Monday August 30.

The girl was travelling on a scooter near Santhekatte petrol pump here when the said incident took place.

The man is identified as Sandesh Kulal (28) from Ramapur Alevoor, and the woman as Soumyashree Bhandary (28). She said to be a resident of Ambagilu here. It is gathered that the woman's engagement took place just three days ago.

The man and the woman were traveling in two separate vehicles.

Both the girl and the boy are critically injured in the incident. They were admitted to a private hospital at Manipal.

According to sources, the man waylaid the woman and stabbed her in the stomach with a knife. He then slit his own throat.

A one-sided love affair is suspected to be the reason behind the attack. 

The man and woman both are said to be locals.
