Udupi: Making Energy dept environment, people-friendly my aim – Sunil Kumar

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS/HB)

Udupi, Aug 30: “Finding issues in the department is the first priority. My main aim is to make the electricity production environment friendly. In addition, I want to make administration people-friendly. There is a plan to form a project with customers, farmers and industries in mind. From September 10 for the next 100 days we are making plans as to how the department should work. It will be published soon,” said Sunil Kumar, minister for energy and Kannada and Culture.

Sunil was speaking at the monthly inter-dialogue programme with the media at the press club. He further said, “I work with commitment. Not by pressure. I will call a spade a spade. That is why I become speck in the eyes of people.

“New form will be given to the Rajyotsava award. A committee will be formed immediately. That committee itself will identify the eligible people apart from those who have applied. Along with that the opinion of that person is also collected.

“Celebration of Jayantis should not be limited to the government or some communities. Public should participate in that.

“Lot of leakage is seen in electricity production. Before the beginning of the assembly session, I will visit all production plants of electricity, do spot verification and see that the electricity is used judicially. The lacunas in production, supply and distribution will be corrected and a target will be given to ESCOMs. As we are getting many complaints on transformers, thought is being given to implement a new scheme.

“I have instructed the officials to prevent any corruption in the recruitment and transfer of employees in the energy department. If I come across any corruption stringent action will be taken against the erring officer.

“The governments of other states should not change the words of Kannada or the names of border villages. The feelings of Kannadigas should not be hurt. Book culture has started in the state. On September 5, there will be an exhibition of books given to me. Already there are four join directors in Kannada and culture departments. They have to work with the revenue department and work with responsibility,” he said.

BJP leaders, ministers, CMs and PM should stop promising and giving false assurances and hopes. They should talk only after accomplishing the objective atleast once. So far all past promises of BJP are yet to be fulfilled but sadly money has been sanctioned, distributed and has disappeared without any developmental change. Vaade Ke Oopar Vaade.
