Shivamogga: 'Resigned before people started tongue-lashing me' - BJP leader's letter goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Shivamogga (SP)

Shivamogga, Aug 31: Currently, one assumes that none of the office bearers or leaders of the BJP would leave the party as it is in power both at the centre and the state. Rarely some leaders come up with the proposal to leave either because of internal differences or personal reasons.

But a leader from here has held his party responsible for inefficient administration, price rise of essentials etc. He said he thought it better to resign before the people start tongue-lashing him. His statement and the resignation letter he tendered have become viral in the social media. The issue has also gained the attention of the political circles.

L Shekhar, Shivamogga district BJP Booth Committee president, has resigned from his position, citing the above reason. The letter of resignation he gave to the party leaders has been widely circulated on social websites. The reasons he has put forth for his resignation have also given rise to a lot of interest.

The BJP leaders had planned to present to him the name board when they visited his house on August 25. L Shekhar, who was the Ashoknagar ward president in Shivamogga, shocked them by his unexpected stand.

His letter charges the BJP of failing to work in favour of the people. He said that it has become difficult for the common people to carry on with life as necessities like petrol, diesel, cooking gas, food grains, electricity etc have become costlier and the people find it hard to carry on with life.

"Under these circumstances, I cannot speak in favour of the BJP. I have opted to remain silent. Now, the BJP is in power at the centre, state and also in the city corporation here. But if I side with the BJP, I will surely be scolded. Having been hurt mentally, I have resigned from the post of the president of the booth committee," he said. The incident happened when the city unit of BJP was handing over name boards to the presidents of every booth along with the party symbol.

How much and how long the common man will suffer. First it was note ban which ressulted in daily wage earners out of job for months, then it was GST related price rise, then it was sudden corona related lockdown when people who did not have cash in the pocket went hungry and now it is price rise across the sector. BJP govt., is only for the rich and powerful. They mesmerise the voters by claiming that hindus are in danger. This is just a ploy. Basically they are funded by the corporates and work for the rich. It is people like Rahul Gandhi who are raising the voice of the poor and should be supported left and right in the next election.

A very rare ray of hope for those of us who care about our country. At least we found one conscientious person in politics. There might be a few more but only this man has had the courage to speak out. In the same fashion, many many disgruntled people among the public are disappointed and disheartened with the pathetic performance of Narendra Modi but for reasons known to everyone, they are keeping quiet and suffering with patience. Unless people pick up the courage and speak out, the people are bound to suffer more in the days to come. Now there is no talk about the acche din. Where has this slogan disappeared Mr. Modi?

God has opened his mind and eyes. So that he understood the people's cry. There are many BJP leaders are hearing people's crying but ignoring because hungry for money power. Don't worry soon all Andhbhakts will start to show their tears against Modi. But there are some Andhbhakts here dreaming to come power in2024.

BJP is solely relying on hindu sentiments. Even bhakts know this... Economy is in shambles, mismanagement of covid, unemployment is all time high, essential commodities prices sky rocketing, privatisation of assets, farmers issue etc. We have a PM who just focuses on PR and his image in front of world. Its just a matter of time before this bubble gets burst.

To each, his own! Remember last week GT Deve Gowda left JDS and joined CONgress when he could've easily joined BJP and soak in power? So there, to each, his own. Same case with this guy too.
