Bengaluru: Excise department's revenue grows, earns Rs 10,197 crore in five months

Bengaluru, Sep 3: Excise department which is an important avenue for the state government's earnings, has recorded a revenue of Rs 10,197 crore from April to August this year. It has sold 261 lac boxes of Indian Made Liquor and 87 lac boxes of beer. The hike in revenue recorded during this period is 31 percent.

During this period last year, the department earned revenue of Rs 7,755 crore. The sales were particularly good in April (Rs 2,202 crore), June (Rs 2,230 crore), July (Rs 2,233 crore) and August (Rs 2,067 crore).

The department is staring at this financial year's target of Rs 24,580 crore. During the month of August the department saw an increase in the sale of beer. Because of coronavirus fears, sale of beer had been sluggish for the last several months.

    At peoples expense and health issues, family issues and non savings government is boasting of enhanced revenue. If the taxes collected amounts to so many thousands of crores, just imagine how much money is wasted on alcohol ? People must realize and save that money or must donate to social organizations.     Isme Shankaranna ke कितने प्रतिशत है ? Why people contribute so much towards excise for buying shaitan ka pishaap ? Govt. Ji, aur bhi alcohol ka rate badavo....peenewale kam honewale nahi dikhte.....iske badle, cylinder, petrol, dal chawal ka rate gira deejiye.....

    Readers, the massive revenue generated by the excise department, clearly indicates that the effects of Covid19 pandemic, has failed to derail the economy of Karnataka. The national GST revenue has surpassed all expectations, despite 2 years of gloom.. The economic activity is quickly getting stabilised..running back on track !!!

    Due to BJP is in Central as well as in most of States some people are drowning with liquor day n night in agony. Cannot able to bear taken company of liquor on regular basis to survive. Eela Aa Paramatmana Mahime. We are just katputlis.
