DK reports 176 corona cases, Udupi adds 126 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 9: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, September 9 reported 176 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 1.54%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 16,49,177 samples have been tested so far, out of which 15,37,258 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,11,919, out of which 2,082 are currently active.

As many as 225 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 108233.

The death in the district on Thursday is nill. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,604.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,05,81,970 in fines for 86,894 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 10,31,952 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 126 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 74,858 out of which 1,437 are currently active.

A total of 57 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 72,963 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 268 lives in the district.
