Renowned emcee 68-year-old Neville D’Souza passes away in Canada

Toronto, Sep 18: One of the highly acclaimed personality and the renowned emcee ex-Abu Dhabi Neville D’Souza (68) passed away due to an accident outside his home on September 16 here in Mississauga, Canada. This news of tragic loss has come as total shock for his family and thousands of friends.

Neville was born in Bahrain on April 28, 1953 to the late Robert and Elizabeth D’Souza. He grew up in Bengaluru and after his studies arrived in Abu-Dhabi in 1976. He worked in Gray-Mackenzie for four years and later at the British Embassy until his retirement in 2005 as the Commercial Attaché. He moved to Canada in 2005 to be with his family.

Neville was a highly acclaimed emcee and compered high level programmes in the Middle East and in Canada. He compered may events organized by KCO Abu-Dhabi and the Mangalorean Association of Canada.

He leaves behind his mom Elizabeth D’Souza, beloved wife Joyce, his sons Lennon and Elton/Ann Marie, his grandchildren Mateo, Avery and Isla, his brothers Melville and Clarille.

Neville will be laid to rest on September 20. The funeral will be live streamed.

    Extremely sad and shocked to learn about the untimely demise of dear Neville. He was one of the well respected Indians in Abu Dhabi. Apart from being a very talented and sought after Emcees, Neville was also connected with several social and cultural organisations.     Very saddened to hear the shocking news of Neville's demise. I knew him way back in Abu Dhabi from 1980-1990, and have good memories of him.     Dearest Joyce, Lennon, Elton, Aunty Lizzie, Melwyn, Clary and all the extended members of D'Souza family. We are saddened by the sudden demise of our beloved Neville. I cherish the fond memories of Neville picking my brother and myself from the boarding home in Blore on his bicycle, when we were little kids to spend every weekend with his family. We met again as adults in Abu Dhabi and spent numerous occasions together celebrating good times. Destiny brought us together again in Canada and he made us feel very welcome in this new land. We will always cherish the wonderful memories of times spent together at family get togethers. Neville was larger than life. Entertained everyone with his spontaneous humour and brought smile to everyone who met him. Neville will never be forgotten. Still we are in shock as it looks unreal and difficult to accept. I can write for hours about my association with Neville. His talent for Emcee of any functions was exceptional. His spontaneous natural sense of humor captured thousands of admirers in UAE , Abu Dhabi in particular. He was part of every Community Functions in Abu Dhabi, ISC, Indian Ladies Association, KCO, Paradela to name a few. He was instrumental with other two gentlemen who in 1987 conceived, planned and executed the famous "Christmas Festival'at St Joseph Cathedral Church and Compered for next 10-15 years, and now main annual event, which savings benefit thousands underprivileged in many Countries. Personally he was very close to the family and emcee for our First Child Christening. He has touched hears of Thousands and he would be missed but always will be remembered. Please accept our heartfelt Condolences and truly we share your grief and pray for his soul to rest in peace and specially God give strength to his mother Auntie Lizy and all of you to bear this terrible loss in your lives.
