Bangalore: Yeddy’s Challenges – Wriggling out of Mining Hole, Following Party Diktat

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Oct 15: The BJP high command has, after the litmus test, directed both Chief Minsiter (CM), Yeddyurappa, and state party chief, K S Eshwarappa, to behave themselves and correct their past follies. The high command feels that arrogant behaviour on the part of these leaders gave rise to a revolt against the party in the state. The central leadership has advised the Chief Minister to organize meetings with Eshwarappa, national general secretary, Anant Kumar, in-charge of party affairs for Karnataka, Shantakumar, and members of the core committee, to discuss threadbare, reasons for the present situation, and ways and means to ensure that past mistakes are not repeated.

It is clear that Yeddyurappa, who had once openly declared that he would mend his ways, after the previous revolt led by Reddy brothers threatened to topple the government, has not succeeded in doing so. At the same time, his efforts to sideline the mining barons from Bellary have suffered a setback, as the Reddy brothers played a vital role in saving the government. There are reports that the mining lobby has succeeded in enticing three Congress MLAs to resign from their seats and join the BJP. However, reportedly, both Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa have not given a green signal to this move, well aware of the fact that there is a prolonged heartburn among the party loyalists against giving importance to turncoats, and the possible strengthening of the importance of Reddy brothers in the party, if this move is encouraged. Reddy brothers want to ensure that party has a comfortable majority to govern the state.

The fact that the party will have to rely on a wafer-thin majority, if the five independent legislators who have appealed against their disqualification succeed to get their disqualifications quashed through the High Court, has given added power to some disgruntled legislators, who have been vying for ministerial berths. The CM now needs to tread very cautiously, as any wrong step can plunge the government into crisis. He needs to keep the Reddy brothers also happy. It is generally being analyzed that Yeddyurappa has lost the hold he used to enjoy on the party, and henceforth will not be able to take any decisions independently.

The fact that the Congress party did not aggressively try to topple the government, perhaps in a bid to save itself from earning the ‘betrayer’ tag by getting associated with the efforts of the JDS, also enabled Yeddyurappa to survive. Yeddyurappa henceforth, will have to utter every word with caution and take every step after taking other prominent members of the party into confidence, to save himself from the ignominy of being forced to step down, political analysts believe.

Chor Government Mr. Nagesh. Anyone can win votes in this way. Only good development work did by Yeddy so far, paid money and bought MLA's from other parties and made is party strong. Three times in a span of two and half years Vote of Confidence took place. Its become a TAMASHA. God knows how many more are to come. God knows how many times by elections will take place. Yeddy is busy only in this and not worried about any developments. Congrats Yeddy and your team. Nagesh there is nothing to be proud or happy.

Traveling by bike from Nantur to Gurpur is not an answer to the existing problems. The roads are in a bad state. It is better that you walk along the roads and lanes and streets of Mangalore to see for yourself the situation the people are in. Being used to be driven by a driver in places does not give you an idea of the difficulties experienced by the public. Now that you have a second lease (how long no one knows) please try and help the people who have elected your party to power. Do not ignore their problems and difficulties. It is time that you and other ministers give some thought to the dire needs of the people instead of suggesting a mock drill like traveling by bike.

Mr Ravi Shankar, why do you want CM to prove his guts by travelling in bike from Nantur to Gurpur? The CM obviously has better work to do like visiting temples, performing poojas after holding meetings with RSS bosses. But what are all the MLAs from Mangalore, who shamelessly spent days in exotic resorts, doing? Did you ask them to take the challenge? Let all the Mangalore MLAs prove what they are worth by fighting for the cause of people. Roads are horrible and simply non-existent in several localities. Why did these MLAs get elected and why people support them still?

Time for Yeddi to step down and make way for beter leaders like Shetter or Mr Ashok. Only this way would save the grace for BJP in Karnataka and stablise it.

Yeddi, Hold! Beware! If you meddle with Reddy brothers, your are sure to lose. Better you keep quiet and helplessy watch our states mineral wealth being looted in front of your own eyes. Interfering with Reddy brothers - all four of them- means you are playig with venomous King Cobra. Nagesh Nayak doesnt know about this. Even states wealth is looted, he still wants his BJP at power. Poor fellows blind to the realities.

Hey CM, first of all travel Mangalore in a bike.... then you take other challenges... If you have got that guts then travel in a bike from Nanthoor to Gurpur... Why the hell this Govt. is still alive....

Or else buy some more Tempo Travellers and attach your new Pic and increase the number of Ambulances...

Govt. is not just to grant medical care... You dare to travel by a bike around Mangalore...
